The 2020 edition of The Saintly Review hopes to offer a window into the Emmanuel Community as it exists in a larger world. We seek individual perspectives which engage in a meaningful societal conversation through creative prose, poetry, and artwork. Whether through a personal essay finding meaning in everyday moments, a short story filled with compelling characters, or a photograph capturing an idea, this is a space to make your voice heard. We invite creatives of all backgrounds and disciplines to share thought-provoking pieces that speak to the human experience, both within and beyond our campus walls. The Saintly Review aims to hold up a mirror to the Emmanuel community. It’s time to reflect.
We accept email submissions of previously unpublished work to firstname.lastname@example.org. Format the subject line of your email as follows: GENRE_LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_TITLE (ex. Fiction_Hemingway_Ernest_Hills Like White Elephants).
You are welcome to submit to more than one genre, however you will need to send a separate email for each. Please submit up to three previously unpublished prose pieces, or up to five poems.
All essays and fiction pieces must be double spaced and no more than 2,000 words. Please use size 12 Times New Roman font.
Please place each individual work in a separate document and attach them into one email submission per genre. Include the titles of each piece in the document names. For submissions to different categories, create separate emails for each genre. For multiple submissions within the same genre, place only your name and genre in the email subject line. Please do NOT include your name anywhere in the document(s). We consider submissions solely on their merit.
Finally, please include a brief note about your connection to the Emmanuel College community. We look forward to reading your work!
